Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School(VBS) is an important part of our yearly ministry to our own children at PRPC, as well as to the children in our community. We are committed to providing all children with a fun, scripture-based experience, in which they are able to strengthen and cultivate friendships with others in the faith. Our hope is that your child makes new friends, hears of God's love for us through the scriptures, and has a blast participating in VBS!

Dear Parents and Families (2023 VBS),

On behalf of Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church, I am delighted that you have chosen to join us for Genesis I: Space Probe, Vacation Bible School. I hope that your children will have fun as they join us in our exploration of the book of Genesis to learn about the Lord of the Universe!

I would like to take this opportunity to prepare you and your family for what the week has in store for you.

VBS begins Monday, July 11th at 9:00 am. Since you have already pre-registered online, you will be able to take your child(ren) directly into the church sanctuary for drop-off. Please make sure that you sign them in with your child's teacher. You will also need to sign off when you pick them up. If someone else will be picking them up, please make a note of this on the sign-in sheet.

Each day, your child will be sent home with a newsletter, titled The Galaxy Times. This paper will give you a brief synopsis of the day's Bible lesson, memory work, and any announcements. I encourage you to read over this paper as a family and discuss with your child(ren) what they learned that day.

The children will be working on memorizing one Bible verse a day. This Daily Memory Verse will be printed in the newsletter and will be divided into appropriate lengths for your child's age/grade. The teachers at Space Probe will have introduced and helped your child to memorize this verse during their class time. However, reviewing this verse at home will help your child know the verse even better!

This year we will be supporting HOPE Community Project, a ministry in Gonnaives, Haiti. HOPE provides support to keep needy families together (and reduce the number of orphans) by helping children attend school and by providing basic health care and education. We will be collecting money throughout the week to donate.

We will have a friendly competition that runs throughout the week. Your child can earn points for his or her team by doing the following: attending, reciting the Daily Memory Verses, and bringing a Bible (1st thru 7th grade only). The winning team will be announced at our closing ceremony.

Our closing ceremony will be held Friday, July 15th at 7pm. The whole family is invited to attend and learn about the week's events. We will have an ice cream social following the ceremony.
